sometimes, the feeling of inadequacy just sets into you and u feel that uve fallen so far short of the settings and ideals of yahweh. an un-expressable son who's always receiving, a lazy fella when it comes to spending time with Him, someone who conveniently retreats into the circle of thoughts that everything is in His plans when i didnt work hard enough,..yadayadayada and the list goes on.
however, there's just so much to be thankful for. close friends who can lift u up when things dont go right, confidantes that offer u a listening ear and guardians who'll give sound/radical GODLY advices and perspectives. reading gayne's blog does bring a tear into my eye and humbled me that god has placed friends in my life not without a reason.
praise god for friends he puts into our lives! esp that inner circle of friends :-)

so, his name is sk. otherwise leonard.or siewkeong. and lately, siew choi. he's as young as he wishes to think he is and feels that eating is probably second to none in life, that is except the One up there of course. He's a podiatrist in the making, mind you, not a masseuse. he loves his little kingkong and enjoys singing to none but just One.

when our values are pure n righteous...they're noticable from every direction through e actions n words we speak.
my very very very good friend, jonathan from SA days. bumped into him last week at wheelock place.i was encouraged when he said this(the above mentioned quote) during our msn conversation. i'd keep that in mind for a while and ponder a little..
10:14 PM - Thursday, January 10, 2008
for the world which didnt know what i've been doing since the start of new year, ive been an ad-hoc relief-teacher. so that means, every night i'll turn on my phone to the loudest ringing mode, so that when my phone rings at 645-7am the next morning, i can respond to the phone call and get employment. so, if u got nth important to tell me in the middle of the night, dunt call/sms me lest i'll curse you to become a relief teacher at some point in your life too!
well, to my kids, i'm known as Mr. Suave, yes, not mr kwok. HAHAHA! imagine 40 innocent kids, bowing down greeting u with that dead and monotonous tone, 'gooooooooooooood moooorrrrrn-llinnng meeesterrr swarrrrf' haha! it gives me the feel-good vibes, man! cheap thrill! haha. really! its an ego booster! haha, one time, they had soo many qns to ask me but i gladly responded to all the kids shouting for 'mr suave! how to do this?' and 'mr suave! like that, how?' haha. ok i am still the same old humble sk that u once already knew alright..
anyway, i had a CME lesson, and with my creative juices, i got them to pen a song about Singapore, or write a letter to a pen-pal and tell them more about our sunny island. man, let me tell you, in the midst of marking numerous/uncountable/extremely many stupid grammar mistakes, there were many things that can actually bring joy. I AM SERIOUS.
*names of the students have been omitted to protect their interests and everything typed were what students wrote before any editing*
lines from the letters to pen-pal:
1) Singapore is a clean and green city. It has a durian fruit-building called Esplanade.
My remark : Indeed, we are so environmental that we even have such a big durian that was converted into a building? How phenomenal and what a landmark..
2) Satay is a piece of meat that is pierced through and cooked over charcoal fire............Satay is Singapore's most favourite food.
Comment: Wow, did Singapore choke on her satay since it has a piercing? What else consist in Singapore's diet?
3) I really hope you and I would try some Satay club.
Comment: I eat satays, not the organisation...
4) Singapore is also known as the 'kiasu' people too. We have a lot of places of interests.
Comment: Wow, even our government and the developers are so kiasu, right?
5) Come to Explanet, Orchid Road and museme.
Comment: I stay on Current-Planet, and does Orchid road has all the different breeds of orchids?
6) Singapore was born on 9 Aug 1942.
Comment: YOU WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION WHEN I WAS TEACHING U HISTORY,RIGHT!? ( remember? this was a CME lesson still...)
7) Singaporeans love durians so someone built a durian building, called Esplanade.
8) Let me tell you more about Singapore's past time.
Comment: Oh, you mean, Singapore has hobbies, too??
9) Singapore was once being ruled by the Japanese after World War 2.
Comment: PAY ATTENTION DURING HiSTORY CLASS.
10) The interesting atrraction is the zoo. There are a lot of animals. The interesting event is happening tonight and tomorrow night and another tomorrow night! Its called 24hr gaming!
Comment : No wonder your grammar is bad...
of course, i only dared to write back nonsensical comments 'cos im a relief teacher.but i blame all these instincts on my bio teacher, goh hwee kwan, for asking pple to jump off buildings, go and die and telling me she fainted in my many atrocious bio scripts haha.alright, now for some that really tickles u for a while. and they are the songs that they penned.
however, some of them didnt quite run with the songs, but its funny nonetheless haha!
1. *to the tune of the mocca advertisement-the one which has the muscleman advertising the house*
Hi, i want to show you my country, Singapore.
Its clean and green with friendly people
The Raffles is over there!
Durian is over there!
This is Singapore,
Want to see more, come to Singapore!
2) *tune of Last Christmas*
Singapore, NUH, I was born there
But the very next day I was brought back home
3) *mary had a little lamb*
Singapore is just a dot!
Just a dot!
Just a dot!
Singapore is just a dot!
But it is interesting!
4) This, in my opinion, was the best, and most hilarious. So political! haha talks about pple streaming into Singapore yet we are already so crowded. And he's only sec2! haha, Although it doesn't quite fit the song, but u get the main parts of the song to the tune still! hahahahah

verse
You come to Singapore
We give you good service
You will give 5 stars
Come stay in Singapore
chorus
Because our D24 is 1st class
Come to Balestier and try
You sure eat non-stop
Eat until you will explode
Now is crowded more than ever,
You cannot find each other
You can stay in Singapore,
You can stay in Singapore

i know im supposed to update abt my trips, but til a later time! =)
a new year, a new start. some new refreshments but mainly rejuvenation.
both the Christmas service and covenant service for me was different this time(although it SHOULD always be this way) because for once, i left myself out of the bustling rush of the christmas shopping madness(or u may out it simply as the materialistic kind of christmas).
but for this entry, i want to note down about the covenant service.
indeed, bringing myself to kneel before the Lord put me in a posture where i was humbled before the Lord, and looking back upon the year, there's so much for me to thank the Lord for. Others will be busy thanking the Lord for His goodness in their lives, but i praise the Lord for his grace and mercy for bringing me through some of my most trying and despondent times. i thank God for his reassurance that 'i am grafted into the body of christ and he will fulfil the dreams he has given me'(what Ps Josh prayed for me during one communion). I'm also thankful that he gave me peace in my heart to just trust my life in his hands because my future seems bleak w my messed up As, but with god, i have this silent confidence that i'd be just fine. somehow, naturally, this humbling recount sent tears welling up my eyes.
recou nting the past year and cou ting my little blessings along the way has shown me how good god has been, and for that, i am encouraged to continue walking by the lord and keep to his ways.
and for the year ahead, i have decided i want to focus more on certain things/areas im serving. i've been asking the Lord if i should just focus on one ministry and do well in what i am doing first. also, i want to grow deeper spiritually and learn about god's direction for people's lives. as in, for adults, with regards to working, carrying and presenting yourself, relationships and be secure in my indentity in christ etc.i realise, being 18, i am turning an adult soon!! in additon, i want to firm up my business ideas soon as i want to do something while i still have time on my hands.
other things have happened, and this year ahead, dear lord, i entirely place my future in your hands. its hard, but sovereign God, do it your way and i will cling on dearly to you, for you bring me peace in my heart and confidence in life.
